Prix Armando Trovati – AIJS Photo Contest – The Rules

Rules for the 7th edition (Season 23-2024) of the Prix Armando Trovati – AIJS Photo Contest –

A – The ‘Prix Armando Trovati’ is an annual photo ski contest open to accredited photographers taking part to the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup.

B – Entries are limited to one picture per photographer per contest.

C – The photographer must have been accredited as photographer at least once on a current FIS Alpine Ski World Cup (Olympic Games and World Championships included) stage.

D –          1- Entries must be submitted by email to: contest@prixarmandotrovati.com in .jpeg max size 2 Mo, min size 600 Ko. With caption and credit (First name, name / Agency if there is one) with a copy (photo, email confirmation) of the accredited media or photographer pass of a World cup event.

2 – Confirmation of entry will be provided on arrival of photograph.

3 – Before the announcement of the winner, the original file will be asked for verification. The photography file must not have been retouched except: Levels and contrast.

E – The jury members will have no access to the photographer’s name but just to the photograph and the caption which must include date, place, who or what the subject is in the picture. Please allow access to the metadata of the picture regarding camera, lens, iso, speed etc

F – The photograph must be taken during the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup season from first day till last day of competitions.

G – The Jury is composed of 5 persons (from at least 3 continents) with at least two women. The Jury members cannot take part to the contest Prix Armando Trovati.

  • AIJS PRESIDENT or AIJS BOARD MEMBER or delegate (1 vote)
  • WIRE INTERNATIONAL AGENCY (1 vote) Rotating between AP, Reuters, AFP etc.
  • FIS General Secretary or delegate (1 vote)
  • One AIJS Photographer from Trovati family (1 vote) Alessandro and Marco Trovati
  • An expert in photography world magazine (1 vote)

H – The winner of the prize will be announced during the season 2024/2025. He will get at least a Crystal Trophy awarded by FIS and AIJS, a one year free fee to AIJS and a jacket offered by Colmar.

I – A selection (10 – 11) of the best pictures will be printed by the AIJS and will be available for viewing at resorts, sponsors locations, photo galleries. Costs for hosting the pictures will be the responsibility of the exhibiting host.

J – The Jury can also award per year a special prize. The « Prix du Jury »

L – By entering the contest, entrants agree to photograph to be used to promote the ‘Prix Armando Trovati’ and the AIJS. No fee or remuneration can be requested for this use, effort will be taken to ensure credit is on the picture.

M – By participating in the contest, entrants agree to the rules set out by the organisers and the jury’s decision is final and no correspondence may be entered once the decision has been made.
